About Our League
To say the Emotional Friends Fantasy Football League produces and delivers high-quality and wholesome Fantasy Football is very true. That’s the essence of what we do – but it hardly tells the whole story.
Our Heritage:
Every NFL football season, we play Fantasy hoping to do two things: Effortlessly talk shit and demean our friends and help make the world of Fantasy just a little better through our unwavering commitment to the pillars of Fantasy Enlightenment, set forth by our lord and savior, Taylor Swift. It was true when our founding father, Alex Ashak (Chief Executive Officer and League Commissioner), opened the league in its inaugural 2012 season, and it’s just as true today.
Back then, the league was a rag tag group of eight high school buddies out of Arizona's historic Desert Ridge High School. From just some narrow-minded, young buck Swifties, The Emotional Friends Fantasy Football League offered some of the world’s finest Fantasy action. The name, inspired by original league Member, Daniel West, evoked the homo-erotic romance of a bunch of dudes who unironically love Taylor Swift music and the degenerate tradition of our early Fantasy Brethren who play a meaningless game of chance for money.
In 2014, Justin Ressa (Senior Vice President of Communications) and Alex Ashak successfully merged the American Fantasy Football Association of America with the Emotional Friends and essentially created what this this fabled league is today. From Ressa's first taste of the sweet, sweet, excitement that oozed from each of his Emotional Friends League members, he was instantly drawn into the powerful, cult-like traditions of the league.
Throughout his life, Ressa had traveled far and wide to discover the true meaning of Fantasy Football and to share with the world the divine gift of Fantasy. He became captivated with the Swifty movement and her heavenly lyrics that encapsulate the soul of the true Fantasy Football experience. He had a vision to embed only the most worthy of leagues with this ancient power source, and that is why Ashak knew his transition to the Emotional Friends Fantasy Football League would be so perfect. A place where Ressa could distribute his whimsical takes, crazy rants, and hard-hitting insights, deep inside eager league mates never before getting to experience the true power of Ressa's transformative information loads. With this, we arrive to today, where it has grown to become a league where he is finally able to light up league mates with the ever elusive harmonic balance of camaraderie, shit talking, and T Swift lore, all rolled tightly into one perfect blunt of orgasmic euphoria. From the beginning, the Emotional Friends Fantasy Football league set out to be a different kind of league. One that not only celebrated Fantasy Football and the rich tradition of our main girl T Sizzle, but one that also brought out all the complicated emotions intertwined through the gift of Fantasy Football and Taylor Swift coming together as one.
Our mission? To inspire and nurture the true spirit of Fantasy Football – one season, one game, one point, and one T Siz gong at a time.
